This is an opportunity to play a key role on high-profile, national sports business accounts and to further develop the agency’s growing speciality in Sports Business.

The team’s services range from brokering franchise agreements and negotiating broadcast and naming rights to opening facilities, assisting athletes, and managing events. Our staff comes from all walks of sports business: franchises and team; leagues and other governing bodies; B-to-B and B-to-C sponsor companies; and sports, business and news media. Our clients include AT&T, Gatorade, NCAA, NHL, Sports Capital Partners, and the St. Louis Cardinals, among others.
Responsibilties:
Develop communications campaigns on behalf of major local and national sports accounts
Assemble new business presentation packages and proposal responses, as well as help or lead in new business pitches
Implement media relations campaigns, including developing and pitching stories to national and local media
Implement on-line communications strategies to support client’s needs
Organize and stage regional and national events
Develop solid relationships with clients and influential partners and third parties
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication, English, or a related area
Minimum 5+ years of experience working in a sports agency, business firm, or sports league/franchise
A track record of successfully managing national media relations programs, and maintaining an active list of journalists and third parties who cover sports
Proficient in understanding communications trends and applying current best practices in communications practice
Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects
Experience in organizing and staging events (i.e. news conferences, promotional events, etc.)
Creative, energetic team player who is results-focused and willing to go the extra mile for clients
Background in marketing communications
Strong writing skills across a variety of applications, including video, online, news materials, promotional materials, and speeches
Excellent presentation skills
