Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will focus on managing operating system patch management and anti-virus deployments and upgrades. A good working knowledge of Microsoft SQL server is a must. With one to two years SQL database experience, this candidate will be conversant with Microsoft SQL terminology. Skilled experience in administering SQL databases including administration, query development and report generation are required. A grounded understanding of Symantec Anti-Virus management scheme is also needed.
Daily responsibilities for this position will include:
Managing the Altiris patch management application and database
Ensuring security patches are applied and up-to-date for 2200 workstations and 170 servers
Generating and reviewing patching performance reports
Troubleshooting database issues when patch management fails
Auditing the efficacy of the patching system and championing improvements as needed
Auditing the Symantec (SAV) server installations and maintaining current AV definitions on all workstations and servers
Reviewing the SAV exceptions list and investigating reasons for update failures
Assuring workstations reflect the current protection definitions and remedying exceptions
Qualifications:
In addition to possessing good oral and written communications skills, this candidate will thrive in a team oriented environment that rewards knowledge transfer amongst the department members. Because the Fleishman-Hillard Technical team works with and manages products listed below, a working knowledge of these is needed.

Basic networking skills and knowledge will be extremely helpful, such as an understanding of TCP\IP Protocols, IP subneting, switching and routing, and LAN\WAN topologies
