Vice President, Research

Overview: 
Fleishman-Hillard, a leading global communications agency, has an opportunity for an experienced research specialist to join the team at the agency’s global headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri.  We are seeking a seasoned, entrepreneurial-minded research practitioner who is a savvy research consultant, an excellent client relationship manager, and someone who has a solid understanding of communications research. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop research programs for a diverse set of clients, including Fortune 500 companies,  and contribute to the overall growth of the research group by building a portfolio of business and relationships.  

Responsibilities: 
• Establishing oneself as a general “research consultant” within Fleishman-Hillard, providing in-person client service and counsel to account teams and clients worldwide.   
• Managing and working on a wide array of research assignments, including but not limited to:
- Quantitative research (surveys)
- Qualitative research (focus groups and in-depth interviews) 
- New business support  
- Media measurement
- Communications audits
• Managing all aspects of a research project, including:
- Managing the project budget and internal project team
- Designing questionnaire / discussion guides
- Analyzing data
- Preparing research reports
- Presenting findings to clients
- Translating research findings for a variety of audiences and create insights that inform communications recommendations
• Developing proposals for new business prospects; planning and budgeting new projects.
• Active participation in client account strategy sessions to maintain focus on objectives and measuring results.
• Helping to oversee quality control of client deliverables; recommending procedures to streamline process.
• Helping to innovate, define, launch and deliver new research products and services
• Working to ensure that Fleishman-Hillard counselors are kept up-to-date with developments and new products and services from the research team.

Qualifications: 
• Minimum of ten years experience with a research agency focused on public opinion and/or communications research that includes doing research work for corporate clients as well as trade associations. 
• Experience using research to develop, manage and measure marketing and communications programs.
• Proven analytical and deductive reasoning skills.
• Track record of “selling” research to clients and being the primary point person on the project.
• Well developed understanding of social media, media technologies and media analytics a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree at minimum.
• Results-focused approach and willing to go the extra mile for clients.
• Able to manage a full, varied workload and deliver high-quality work under deadline pressure.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, including managing and mentoring staff.
• Extremely detail-oriented.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including capability to lead group discussions and give presentations.
