The show, 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3, will feature rock n roll from the Laclede Gas Flames, AT&T All-Stars, Enterprise Rent-A-Cars e-Rockers, Citi St. Louis The CitiBand and FH’s Pro-Bono and the Non-Billables. Off Broadway, 3509 Lemp Ave., is donating use of the venue for the event.

Be sure to watch the FH video discerning between corporate rockstars or non-rockstars.  My favorite part has to be Roger’s throwback to the Hasslehoff video!!

I’m still in the process of unpacking my new office, but below are some pics of my work in progress.  Our finance group was moved down to the 16^th floor and production was moved up to our floor which resulted in a couple of extra offices in the TD wing. I have a really neat view of the Bank of America building – which is awesome because they were my favorite client to recruit for when I worked at Hewitt Associates – and now all of the recruiters are located in the same area.  I think they did that on purpose – Mary and I have a tendency to be really, really loud when we’re on the phone.  Hopefully, we won’t completely blow the lid off this place when we’re doing our next recruiting blitz!

Did you know that St. Louis hosts the largest Susan G. Komen walk in the country?  I had absolutely no idea until I participated, for my very first time, in the 3 mile walk and saw firsthand what a crowd of 66,000 people really looks like!

Mary, my partner in crime at work, organized a team which raised over $2,000 dollars and had about 25-30 walkers.  We had a really fun day with family and friends – as well as a little bit of drama. Here’s our timeline for the day’s events:

-7:00 a.m. – Mary’s scheduled meeting time for our group in front of the Dubliner.

-7:35 a.m. – Time that the first person actually arrives. 

-7:45 a.m. – The rest of the team arrives. Hey where’s Mary?  Aren’t you guy’s glad we didn’t actually show up at 7:00 a.m. (hahaha)?

-8:00 a.m. – No really, where is Mary?  Does anyone have a cell phone?

-8:30 a.m. – Phew, Mary arrives!

-9:00 a.m. – Our team starts the 5k walkers route.

-9:15 a.m. – We go over the hill and see the crowd of over 60 thousand people below (see picture).

-9:30 a.m. – Mary and I accidentally veer off from our team and take the wrong route.  Not knowing what to do we stop for awhile and dance to the street band playing YMCA.  We quickly discover that doing the YMCA dance is a very good distraction when lost.

-9:45 a.m. – Found!  A few people from our team venture back to find us.

-10:00 a.m. – It starts getting really hot.  Why did I wear yoga pants instead of shorts?

-10:05 a.m. – We meet back up with the rest of the team in the Wachovia cool off misting station. 

-10:30 a.m. – We cross the finish line and go straight for the water tables.

We also met up with the official FH sponsored team, which had over 40 participants, after we finished the race. I had such a great experience that I am definitely going to start making this an annual tradition.  Although next year I think we’ll make the official meeting time around 8:00 a.m.!

Mark your calendar’s for August 4th – it’s time for ‘Stache Bash 2007 at AL Hrabosky’s Ballpark Saloon!  A minimum $10 donation will be taken at the door plus you must display a fabulous mustache to enter.  Fake mustaches will be provided for the ladies – if needed – and all proceeds go to the Challenger Baseball League for special needs children.  Here’s the best part — FREE beer from 8 pm ’till midnight!
